Taxonomy
Vetus robustus was named by Poinar (1977). Its type specimen is UCMP 14509 and is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is UCMP B-7048, Vega de la Campana, Simojovel region, which is in a Miocene terrestrial amber in Mexico.
