Taxonomy
Atelestocrinus was named by Wachsmuth and Springer (1886) [Sepkoski's age data: C Vise-l Sepkoski's reference number: 906]. It is not extant. Its type is Atelestocrinus delicatus.

It was assigned to Cladida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Mastigocrinidae by Ubaghs et al. (1978), Kammer and Roeser (2012).
