Taxonomy
Botryocrinus was named by Angelin (1878) [Sepkoski's age data: S Wenl-u D Give Sepkoski's reference number: 254]. It is not extant. Its type is Botryocrinus ramosissimus. It is the type genus of Botryocrinidae.

It was assigned to Botryocrinidae by Laudon (1936) and Ubaghs et al. (1978); and to Cladida by Sepkoski (2002).
