Taxonomy
Chroniosuchus paradoxus was named by Vjushkov (1957). Its type specimen is PIN 521/6, a set of vertebrae, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Pron'kino, PIN 521, which is in a Severodvinian/Vyatkian terrestrial horizon in the Russian Federation.
