Taxonomy

Beudanticeras was named by Hitzell (1902) [Sepkoski's age data: K Apti-u K Albi-u]. Its type is Ammonites beudanti. It is the type genus of Beudanticeratinae.

It was assigned to Ammonoidea by Warren and Stelck (1960); to Desmoceratidae by Whitehouse (1926), Whitehouse (1928), Stoyanow (1949), Henderson (1990), Geyer et al. (1997); to Ammonoidea by Sepkoski (2002); to Beudanticeratinae by Förster (1975), Renz (1982), Alabushev (1995), Wright et al. (1996), Szives (2007), Kennedy and Klinger (2012), Robert et al. (2018), El Qot (2018); and to Beudanticeratidae by Latil et al. (2023).
