Corynecrinus was named by Kirk (1934) [Sepkoski's age data: D Emsi]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Lecythocrinidae by Ubaghs et al. (1978); to Cladida by Sepkoski (2002); to Euspirocrinidae by Bohatý (2006); and to Gasterocomidae by Webster (2012).
