Edapocrinus was named by Wright (1935) [Sepkoski's age data: C Vise-l Sepkoski's reference number: 906]. It is not extant. Its type is Edapocrinus rugosus.
It was assigned to Thetidicrininae by Arendt (1970), Ubaghs et al. (1978); to Cladida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Codiacrinidae by Webster and Webster (2012).
