Esthonocrinus was named by Jeakel (1918) [Sepkoski's age data: O Cara-l Sepkoski's reference number: 1213]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Dendrocrinidae by Ubaghs et al. (1978), Ausich (1998); and to Cladida by Sepkoski (2002).
