Taxonomy
Lageniocrinus was named by de Koninck (1854) [Sepkoski's age data: C Tour P Leon]. It is not extant. Its type is Lageniocrinus seminulum. It is the type genus of Lageniocrininae.

It was assigned to Lageniocrininae by Arendt (1970); to Pentececrininae by Ubaghs et al. (1978); to Lageniocrinidae by Arendt (1981); and to Cladida by Sepkoski (2002).
