Taxonomy
Lophocrinus was named by Meyer (1858) [Sepkoski's age data: C Vise-u Sepkoski's reference number: 906]. It is not extant. It is the type genus of Lophocrinacea, Lophocrinidae.

It was assigned to Lophocrinidae by Ubaghs et al. (1978); and to Cladida by Sepkoski (2002).
