Taxonomy
Protoxyclymenia wendti was named by Korn (1999). Its type specimen is GPIT 1850-38, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Madène el Mrakib, sample K, which is in a Famennian marine claystone in Morocco.
