Taxonomy
Goniatites solus was named by Barrande (1865). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Koneprusy (Suchomasty Lst, Barrande collection), which is in an Emsian carbonate limestone in the Suchomasty Formation of Czechia.
It was recombined as Sellanarcestes solus by Chlupac and Turek (1983), Korn and Klug (2002), Klug (2002).
