Taxonomy
Dunbarites wewokensis was named by Work and Mapes (2009). Its type specimen is SUI 48683, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Highway 75 roadcut (OKD-17), which is in a Kasimovian marine shale in the Wewoka Formation of Oklahoma.
