Taxonomy
Pilidiocrinus was named by Wanner (1937) [Sepkoski's age data: P Guad-u]. It is not extant. Its type is Pilidiocrinus permicus. It is the type genus of Pilidiocrininae. 
It was assigned to Pilidiocrininae by Arendt (1970); to Streblocrininae by Ubaghs et al. (1978); to Pilidiocrinidae by Arendt (1981); and to Cladida by Sepkoski (2002).
