Taxonomy
Manticoceras guppyi was named by Glenister (1958). Its type specimen is CPC 1729, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is BMR RS 178, Bugle Gap, which is in a Frasnian marine horizon in the Virgin Hills Formation of Australia.
