Taxonomy
Nautilus westphalicus was named by Schluter (1876).

It was recombined as Deltoidonautilus westphalicus by Shimansky (1975), Wittler et al. (1999); it was recombined as Angulithes westphalicus by Kummel (1956), Wiedmann (1960), Wilmsen (2000), Főzy (2001).
