Stellarocrinus was named by Strimple (1940) [Sepkoski's age data: C Mosc-u P Wc]. It is not extant. It is the type genus of Stellarocrinidae.
It was assigned to Cladida by Sepkoski (2002); to Stellarocrinidae by Webster and Lane (1967), Ubaghs et al. (1978), Webster et al. (2009); and to Articuliformes by Wright (2017).
