Taxonomy
Zemistephanus armatus was named by Arkell (1954). Its type specimen is UWA F21133, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is South of Moonyoonooka (707304), which is in a Bajocian shallow subtidal limestone in the Newmarracarra Limestone Formation of Australia.
