Taxonomy
Nautilus picteti was named by Oppel (1865). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Kacha basin, Crimea (LGU collection), which is in a Hauterivian/Barremian marine horizon in Ukraine.
It was recombined as Aulaconautilus picteti by Kummel (1956).
