Rollieria canaliculata was named by Jeannet (1951) [Name proposed as type of genus using deliberate employment of Rollier's misidentification (Taramelliceras canaliculatum Rollier, non Quenstedt). By IZCN article 11.10 the name denotes a new nominal species and the specific name is available with its own author and date as though it were newly proposed in combination with the new genus-group name.]. It is the type species of Rollieria.
