Nochelesaurus alexanderi

Taxonomy

Nochelesaurus alexanderi was named by Haughton and Boonstra (1929). Its type specimen is SAM 6239, a partial skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Boesmanskop, Beaufort West, which is in a Capitanian terrestrial horizon in South Africa. It is the type species of Nochelesaurus.

Synonyms

Dolichopareia angusta was named by Haughton and Boonstra (1929). Its type specimen is SAM 6238, a partial skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Boesmanskop, Beaufort West, which is in a Capitanian terrestrial horizon in South Africa.

It was synonymized subjectively with Nochelesaurus alexanderi by Lee (1997).
Brachypareia watsoni was named by Haughton and Boonstra (1929). Its type specimen is SAM 6240, a skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Abrahamskraal, Prince Albert, which is in a Capitanian floodplain sandstone/claystone in the Abrahamskraal Formation of South Africa.

It was synonymized subjectively with Nochelesaurus alexanderi by Lee (1997).
