Augurites mirandus was named by Bogoslovsky (1961). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Kakva River, above Tota River, which is in an Emsian carbonate limestone in the Russian Federation.
It was recombined as Celaeceras mirandum by Korn and Klug (2002).
