Taxonomy
Cyclocrinus was named by d'Orbigny (1850) [Sepkoski's age data: J Bajo K Albi Sepkoski's reference number: 2]. It is not extant. It is the type genus of Cyclocrinidae.

It was assigned to Cyrtocrinida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Cyclocrinidae by Rasmussen (1961), Hess and Gale (2010), Hess and Messing (2011), Hess (2012).
