Timanites keyserlingi was named by Miller and Warren (1936).

Synonyms

Goniatites acutus was named by Keyserling (1844).

It was recombined as Timanites acutus by Mojsisovics (1882); it was replaced with Timanites keyserlingi by Korn and Klug (2002).
Timanites occidentalis was named by Miller and Warren (1936).

It was synonymized subjectively with Timanites keyserlingi by Korn and Klug (2002).
