Playfordicrinus kellyensis

Taxonomy
Playfordicrinus kellyensis was named by Jell and Jell (1999). Its type specimen is NMVP 100315 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is NMVPL 1938. On GSWA track from Kelly's Pass to Teichert Hills, which is in a Famennian marine limestone in the Virgin Hills Formation of Australia. It is the type species of Playfordicrinus.

P. A. Jell and J. S. Jell 1999Cup subspherical, with widely spaced fine granular ornament. Basals 3, irregularly shaped, each asymmetrical with a distal projection at sutures between radials. Radials (or inferradials) 3, large, making up most of the cup; arm-bearing plates variable in number (7-14), with lateral projections distally; articulating facets flat, radially serated in some specimens (probably due to weathering); pararadials 2-9.
