Taxonomy
Alpinites zigzag was named by Becker (2002). Its type specimen is MfN MB.C.3430, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Taourart, 11 km south of Fezzou, which is in a Famennian marine horizon in Morocco.
