Taxonomy
Maideroceras muelleri was named by Becker (2002). Its type specimen is MfN MB.C.3437, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Between Löhma and Ottersdorf, which is in a Famennian carbonate limestone in Germany.
