Taxonomy
Styracocrinus was named by Peck (1955) [Sepkoski's age data: K Albi-u K Ceno-l]. Its type is Drepanocrinus peracutus.

It was assigned to Roveacrinida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Roveacrinidae by Rasmussen (1961), Hess and Messing (2011), Žítt et al. (2019) and Gale and Matrion (2021).
