Conocardium richmondense
Taxonomy
Conocardium richmondense was named by Foerste (1910). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Elkhorn Creek, 3 mi south of Richmond, which is in a Richmondian marine limestone in the Elkhorn Formation of Indiana.
It was corrected as Conocardium richmondensis by Pojeta (1971); it was recombined as Hippocardia richmondensis by Pojeta and Runnegar (1976), Hoare (1989); it was recombined as Iapetocardia richmondensis by Wagner (2023).
