Serenichthys kowiensis
Taxonomy
Serenichthys kowiensis was named by Gess and Coates (2015). Its type specimen is AM 5754 (a & b), a skeleton (slightly disrupted whole-bodied specimen preserved in part and counterpart), and it is a cast. Its type locality is Waterloo Farm, which is in a Famennian lagoonal shale/sandstone in the Witpoort Formation of South Africa. It is the type species of Serenichthys.
