Mimella nucleoidea was named by Cooper (1956) [= Hebertella vulgaris Raymond 1911 p. 242, text figs. 15, 17, 18, pi. 36, figs. 2, 4, 5?]. Its type specimen is USNM 110786, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil.
