Taxonomy
Obolus virginiensis was named by Cooper (1956) [= Palaeoglossa belli Willard (not Billings), Bull. Mus. Comp. Zool., Harvard Coll., vol. 68, No. 6, p. 255, 1928.]. Its type specimen is USNM 109334, a valve (pedicle valve), and it is a 3D body fossil.
