Taxonomy
Miocidaris connorsi was named by Kier (1965). Its type specimen is USNM 144195 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USNM734, Hegler (Ligon) Ranch, Guadalupe Mountains, which is in a Capitanian slope limestone in the Bell Canyon Formation of Texas.
It was recombined as Eotiaris connorsi by Thompson (2015).
