Oligopygus is a genus. It is not extant. It is the type genus of Oligopyginae.

It was assigned to Nucleolitidae by Clark and Twitchell (1915); to Echinoneidae by Cooke (1942); to Oligopygidae by Wagner and Durham (1966); and to Oligopygoida by Sepkoski (2002).
