Taxonomy

Ancyloceras elegans was named by Moberg (1885).

It was recombined as Neocrioceras (Schlueterella) elegans by Kennedy (1986); it was recombined as Lewyites elegans by Niebuhr et al. (2016).

Synonyms

Hamites phaleratus was named by Griepenkerl (1889).

It was recombined as Parasolenoceras phaleratum by Arkadiev et al. (2000); it was recombined as Pseudoxybeloceras phaleratum by Küchler and Odin (2001); it was synonymized subjectively with Lewyites elegans by Niebuhr et al. (2016).
