Taxonomy
Oraniceras scythicum was named by Mitta (2015). Its type specimen is PIN 5546/2, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Right bank of Bolshoi Zelenchuk, upstream of Ispravnaya (locality 8), which is in a Bathonian marine horizon in the Russian Federation.
