Taxonomy
Adrianites (Neocrimites) meridionalis was named by Teichert and Fletcher (1943). Its type specimen is AM F35732 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Maitland Colliery Company Shaft, Farley, which is in a Roadian marine siliciclastic in the Elderslie Formation of Australia.
It was recombined as Neocrimites meridionalis by Glenister and Furnish (1961); it was recombined as Aricoceras meridionale by Leonova (2002), Leonova and Boiko (2015).
