Donaldina dubia was named by Mazaev (2015). Its type specimen is PIN 4919/6-334, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Kremeshki Quarry, locality 4919/6, Sovetsk, which is in a Roadian open shallow subtidal grainstone in the Russian Federation.
