Taxonomy

Morphoceras multiforme was named by Arkell (1951).

Synonyms

Ammonites polymorphus was named by d'Orbigny (1846).

It was replaced with Morphoceras multiforme by Besnosov and Mitta (1993), Zatoń (2010), Majidifard (2015).
Ammonites polymorphus lineatus was named by Quenstedt (1847). It is not extant.

It was replaced with Ammonites jupiter by d'Orbigny (1850); it was replaced with Morphoceras multiforme by Arkell (1951).
