Acanthoceras asiatica was named by Jimbo (1894) [DISTRIBUTION: Cenomanian; Cosmopolitan.]. It is a 3D body fossil.
It was recombined as Calycoceras (Newboldiceras) asiaticum by Matsumoto and Skwarko (1993), Kennedy (1994), Kennedy et al. (1996), Kennedy and Jolkicev (2004), Ahmad et al. (2013), Gale et al. (2018) and Gale et al. (2019).
