Taxonomy
Nannometoicoceras nanos was named by Kennedy and Cobban (1990). Its type specimen is USNM 423768, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USGS Mesozoic 12740, Alzada, which is in a Cenomanian marine shale in the Belle Fourche Formation of Montana.
