Taxonomy

Acanthoceras gadeni was named by Chudeau (1909). It is the type species of Nigericeras.

It was recombined as Nigericeras gadeni by Schneegans (1943), Meister (1989), Meister et al. (1992), Wright et al. (1996), Guendouz et al. (2022).

Synonyms

Nigericeras lamberti was named by Schneegans (1943).

It was synonymized subjectively with Nigericeras gadeni by Meister (1989), Meister et al. (1992).
Nigericeras gignouxi was named by Schneegans (1943).

It was synonymized subjectively with Nigericeras gadeni by Meister (1989), Meister et al. (1992).
