Thomasites wallsi

Taxonomy
Bauchioceras (Wrightoceras) wallsi was named by Reyment (1954) [DISTRIBUTION: Turonian; Cosmopolitan.]. Its type specimen is BMNH C.47417, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Kanawa, which is in a Turonian marine horizon in the Pindiga Formation of Nigeria. It is the type species of Bauchioceras (Wrightoceras).

It was recombined as Pseudotissotia (Wrightoceras) wallsi by Reyment (1955), Barber (1957), Meister (1989); it was recombined as Wrightoceras wallsi by Chancellor (1982), Zaborski (1987), Kennedy et al. (1987), Kennedy and Simmons (1991); it was recombined as Thomasites wallsi by Meister et al. (1994).
