It was reranked as Bullatimorphites (Kheraiceras) by Majidifard (2015).

It was assigned to Macrocephalitidae by Imlay (1953); to Tulitidae by Arkell et al. (1957) and Besnosov and Mitta (1993); to Ammonoidea by Sepkoski (2002); and to Bullatimorphites by Majidifard (2015).
