Taxonomy
Cherminsaurus tereschenkoi was named by Alifanov (2000). Its type specimen is PIN no. 4487/1, a partial skull (preorbital fragments of skull plus lower jaw), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Khulsan (PIN coll. 4487) [SMPE], which is in a Campanian/Campanian terrestrial horizon in the Baruungoyot Formation of Mongolia.
