Taxonomy
Baphetes orientalis was named by Milner et al. (2009). Its type specimen is NMW 1898.X.42, a skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Nyrany, which is in a Westphalian D lacustrine coal in the Kladno Formation of Czechia.
