Eocypraea (Eocypraea) mortoni

Taxonomy
Cypraea mortoni was named by Gabb (1860) [Groves (1990) notes that fig. 8 is for P. burlingensis.]. Its type specimen is ANSP 13535, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Prairie Bluff (Morton collection), which is in a Maastrichtian carbonate chalk in the Prairie Bluff Formation of Alabama.

It was recombined as Eocypraea (Eocypraea) mortoni by Schilder (1932), Groves (1990).
