Taxonomy
Ichthyostega eigili was named by Säve-Söderbergh (1932). Its type specimen is MGUH VP 6004, a partial skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is East Plateau, Celsius Berg, which is in a Famennian terrestrial horizon in Greenland.
