Taxonomy
Clevosaurus sectumsemper was named by Klein et al. (2015). Its type specimen is BRSUG 29381-56, a partial skull (left dentary), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Woodleaze Quarry, Fissure 1, which is in a Carnian fissure fill mudstone/siltstone in the United Kingdom.
