Taxonomy

Metalegoceras bosterense was named by Leonova (1989). Its type specimen is PIN 3591/283, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Shindy River, Sample 26/2, Pamir Mountains, which is in a Kungurian marine horizon in the Kyzyldzhilga Formation of Tajikistan.
